Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F) and prepare your cake pan by lining it with parchment paper or greasing it lightly with butter.
Sift and mix all the dry ingredients in a bowl: flour, baking soda, baking powder, and cocoa powder.
Mix eggs and sugar in a separate bowl until you get a creamy texture.
Add yogurt, olive oil, and vanilla extract, and continue mixing.
Add the strained dry ingredients and mix, just enough to combine.
Add the apple bits --- do not overmix.
Pour your chocolate apple cake batter into the prepared pan and use an angled spatula to level the top gently.
Tap the pan on the counter to remove any remaining bubbles.
Place your cake pan in the middle of the oven for about forty minutes or when a toothpick comes out clean when inserted into the cake.
Remove from the oven and set aside for a few minutes to cool.
Transfer your chocolate apple cake to a serving plate.
Sprinkle with powdered sugar (if preferred) --- slice and enjoy!
