Kielbasa Fried Rice is a delicious side dish that combines smoky, flavorful Kielbasa sausage with perfectly seasoned fried rice, vegetables, and a touch of soy sauce. It's quick and so easy to make!

If you're a fan of fried rice, you should also try bacon fried rice or its most straightforward variety (without skimping on flavor) --- garlic fried rice.
I know that fried rice is generally a side dish, but fried rice with kielbasa is a complete meal for me. 🙂
It's got vegetables, rice, and smoky kielbasa as the meat. You can also add eggs if you want more variation.
The trick is to use the same oil from the kielbasa to stir fry the rest of the ingredients --- so you can also taste the hint of smokiness in the vegetables and rice.
As a side dish, kielbasa fried rice is excellent with fried or grilled fish or meat. Try it with your favorite mains so you can decide! 🙂

Ingredients

- Kielbasa - I typically use the thin ones, so I slice them into small rounds. But you can also use a different variety of Polish sausage.
- Vegetables - garlic, corn, carrot, and green onions.
- Rice - cooked, dry and separated.
- Seasoning - salt, pepper and light soy sauce

How to make kielbasa fried rice
Start by placing the chopped kielbasa in a cold wok or skillet and place it over medium-high heat.

Cook until they turn brown on the edges, and some of the oil has come out.
Lower the heat to medium and add the garlic.

Cook until the garlic becomes fragrant, then add the corn and carrot.

Adjust the heat to high and mix for about four minutes to cook the vegetables.
Add the separated rice, soy sauce, salt, and ground black pepper.

Mix to combine everything evenly and cook for about five minutes --- taste and adjust the seasoning accordingly.
Add some of the chopped green onions and the kielbasa from earlier.
Mix, then take the wok off the heat.
Transfer to serving plates and sprinkle with the remaining green onions --- enjoy!

Helpful tips
- If you can, use cooked rice that is at least a day old. The less moisture it has, the better it is for making this fried rice with kielbasa recipe.
- There is no need to thaw the frozen corn. You can add it directly into the wok.
- Do not hesitate to add some vegetable oil if there's too little oil from frying the kielbasa.

Recipe variation
- Frozen peas. An excellent alternative to frozen corn; there's no need to thaw.
- Red bell pepper. If you want more vegetables, red bell pepper is a great addition. Remember to chop it the same size as the carrot.
- Scrambled eggs. As mentioned, feel free to add scrambled eggs if you want. Cook the eggs before the garlic, then set it aside to add together with the green onions and cooked kielbasa at the end.
